STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics — and represents one of the fastest growing job sectors in the country.
Can you help me get to the Florida House, so we can bring more STEM hiring incentives and training grants to Broward and Florida?
Since 2010, Florida has seen a 63% increase in STEM-based jobs. Sadly, state legislators and this GOP administration are failing to prepare our students and workforce. Which is nonsense considering these jobs are growing in demand and also pay more than non-STEM jobs.
They also fuel innovation and economic development in surrounding communities. It would be smart for us to get people ready, especially women and minorities that are already underrepresented in these fields.
We must start providing schools, community colleges, and training programs the resources they need to prepare students and our current workforce to secure STEM jobs. Please contribute $10, $25, $50, or any amount you choose so we can implement these changes this time next year. With your help, we will uplift each other.
Thank you very much,
